Ng On Yee Wins Australian Open Women's Snooker

28 Oct 2018 by Alex Render

Congratulations to Ng On Yee from Hong Kong defeating Katrina Wan (Hong Kong) 4-2 in the final of the Australian Women’s Snooker Championship at Mounties in Sydney. The ladies played spectacular snooker all weekend and the break board is certainly evidence of this. Ng On Yee made a stunning 139 break in the semi final match against N Wongharuthai (Thailand).

Katrina Wan had a fantastic tournament after defeating our local favorite Jessica Woods in the earlier Quarter Finals and beating world number 2 Reanne Evans (UK) in a nail biting semi final 4-3.

This ends a fantastic 2 weeks of snooker at the Mounties club in Sydney after Moh Keen Hoo defeated Kurt Dunham 6-1 in the Bob Hawke AC Australian Open Snooker. Kurt is currently playing Steve Mifsud in the final of the Reventon Masters in Melbourne.

Fantastic work by all the officials and referees, without these people this event would not have been a roaring success. And a big thank you to one of Australia’s biggest supporting clubs – Mounties.

Photos will be posted soon.
